We will be meeting at the Cape Disappointment park entrance at 10AM and will go to various locations in the area from there. Be sure to arrive on time so you can keep up with the group! This
location is about 3 hours from Olympia, so be sure to give yourself time to get down there. It's also a good itea to RSVP to Tom Keller so we know to expect you, you may call Tom at (360) 357-7031.
Be sure to let Tom know if you're interested in carpooling to save some money on gas, since this is a longer drive than most of our forays.

10/25/08 Foray "Westport/Grayland"
We're going to head out to the coast again. Meet at the Mud Bay Park & Ride at 8:15 am to carpool. RSVP to Tom Keller.

We met at the Mud Bay Park & Ride about 8:15 am and left there about 8:30 am. We met up again at the restrooms just inside Grayland State Park about 9:45 am. We started finding
Boletes right away (some of the largest edulis I have ever seen). Eleven people attended this foray. Everyone had a good time and for the most part found all the boletes and some
chanterelles that they could handle.

Richard Glass will be doing a show on Mushroom Photography, talking about motivations, equipment, techniques and other interesting perspectives. We will also have a mushroom filled display table (members, please remember to bring in mushrooms to display and identify). We will have a raffle (to defray expenses) so bring in those baskets, and anything else you would like to donate for the raffle.

Even though the meeting night was the same
day and time as the final presidential debate we had a great turnout of enthusiastic 'shroomers who brought many interesting (and in one case particularly smelly) specimens. Richard Glass gave a slide presentation and discussion on

10/11/08 Foray "Grayland State Park"

We had sunny, but cool weather. Twenty one people attended the foray and we had a good time. We hunted at Grayland State Park and Twin Harbors State Park. Boletes were scarce, but
most found some edible mushrooms.

9/27/08 Foray "Brown Creek"
We're meeting at the Mud Bay Park & Ride at 8:15 am to carpool to Brown's Creek (about 35 miles). We should be back in Olympia before 2:00 pm. Bring baskets, ski pole (for balance) and good boots/shoes for wet walking. We'll have a lunch break on our outing (bring your own food/drinks).

The weekend was a great time, with a delicious potluck at the end of the hunt. We hunted in different areas off I-97 near Blewit/Swauk Pass. Morels were fresh, but not plentiful. Most found between 3,500-4,000 feet.
