2021 Mushroom ID Workshops
Hey there fungal folks!
The South Sound Mushroom Club is excited to be holding another year of Mushroom ID workshops! This year, we'll be meeting at an Olympia city park for a guided mushroom walk then proceeding to an indoor space to further identify our finds and cover essential mycological skills.
The four and a half hour workshops will include a hands-on introduction to:
Identification of PNW mushrooms
Fungal ecology and where to look for fungi
Structures and types of mushrooms
Other topics of discussion include:
Edibility & toxicity of local fungi
Photographing mushrooms
Trees, mosses, other plants, lichens, slime molds and animals
Community Science & resources for further exploration
Tickets are $35 per session. Please share with friends and family but keep in mind that it is a members only event.
These events will follow COVID-19 protocols and will be limited to 12 attendees per session. Masks are required and vaccination is strongly encouraged.
More information will be provided to attendees via email the week of the workshops.
