• The SSMC Scholarship committee applied for and was awarded a full ride Scholarship to the Yoop Foray in Michigan. The winner of that award was also provided an additional $400 SSMC travel stipend to help with airline cost.

•  The Committee also applied for and was awarded by NAMA a $300 Curry Grant designed to assist a members traveling cost to an event. The committee awarded the Curry Grant money to a second SSMC member who attended Yoop.

•  A first time grant was awarded to Evergreen College meant to benefit a student in their studies of mycology. This is the first time we have included Evergreen as a recipient with the goal that it will benefit a student and hopefully create a closer relationship between Evergreen and SSMC.

The scholarships are primarily funded through raffle sales at regular SSMC meetings and, hopefully starting this year, at the SSMC Spring Show. Any donated items or raffle purchases are greatly appreciated; the more club members contribute to the raffle efforts, the more scholarships we can provide to our members.
